Fighting off an Ambien/bourbon hangover the next morning, Zoe forced herself to get up at seven to go for her daily run. Breezing past the doorman in the lobby, she headed out into the warm spring air. The sun was up and the birds chirped as she hoofed her way up the sidewalk along Central Park West.

At 110th Street, she made a right turn and within a minute found herself running past the still cordoned-off crime scene. Twice as many looky-loo pedestrians in masks were there now and a significant police presence was evident in and around the park. Additional reporters and photographers gathered in a separated press area. As she jogged by taking everything in, Zoe spotted the reporter, Tommy Devlin again with his cameraman near a bunch of other reporters. She had read his most recent article about the park murder in The New York Echo right before she left her building.
